For decades, astrophysicists have considered dark matter the fundamental binding agent preventing galaxies from disintegrating under their own rotational forces. However, recent observations have uncovered multiple galactic systems apparently devoid of this mysterious substance. The newest addition to this collection, NGC 1052-DF9, documented in a forthcoming study by Michael Keim, Pieter van Dokkum and their Yale collaborators, strengthens the unconventional "Bullet Dwarf" impact model - a disputed concept in galactic evolution for the past ten years.
